Meaghan Clark was 16 years of age when
she died suddenly on November 6, 2009, a
victim of fatal complications from the H1N1 flu virus.
Her tragic passing left a permanent void in the
lives of her parents, her two brothers, her numerous
aunts, uncles and cousins, her many close friends, and a
school community that had grown to love this optimistic
and confident young woman.
Meaghan's zest for life and her passion for music
touched all those around her. Meaghan was a Marching
Pirate in the Topsail High School marching band, an
active member of the Winter Drum Line, the THS
Winter Guard, and a member of THS Symphonic Band.
Wishing to ensure that Meaghan's spirit would continue
to inspire others to pursue their dreams, her parents
inaugurated the Meaghan Clark Memorial Scholarship,
which is presented annually to a graduating THS music
student.
